Meet Dr. Rachel Knowles
DCN, MS, LDN, CNS, IFMCP, Herbalist
I’m Dr. Rachel Knowles. I’m a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition, professor, clinician, herbal educator, homeschooler, and mom. My work has always centered around education, health, and helping people feel more confident in understanding the body and the choices that shape long-term wellness.

Over the years, I’ve taught students at the university level, worked in private practice, studied and taught herbal education, and spent years homeschooling my own children. Each of those roles has shaped the way I think about health and learning. I’ve seen how often families are left trying to sort through confusing, reactive advice only after problems have already started. I believe we need to do better than that.

I care deeply about helping children and parents feel empowered when it comes to health and wellness. Not through fear. Not through overwhelm. Not through rigid rules. But through intentional, age-appropriate education that helps children understand their bodies, build healthy foundations early, and grow up feeling connected to wellness rather than intimidated by it.

That belief is what led me to create Dr. Rachel’s Garden. It is a space where I can bring together my background in nutrition, teaching, herbal education, and motherhood to create thoughtful stories and resources that support both children and the adults raising them. My goal is to make health and wellness feel more approachable, more meaningful, and more rooted in everyday life.
